Mark your calendars and join us for the 2017 RPMDA convention, April 26– April 30, at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Downtown Atlanta. REGISTER EARLY for the 2017 RPMDA Convention, and your packet will be ready to pick up when the registration desk opens at noon on Wednesday. A block of rooms is on hold for RPMDA at the Hyatt Regency. Your reservation as part of the convention hotel room block supports the RPMDA convention! The convention rate is $165, plus tax, single or double. Complimentary internet access in sleeping rooms. Hotel parking is $35 (in-out privileges). There are a number of less expensive parking lots and garages within a block of the hotel.
NOTE: When registering for the convention online, payments are processed by PayPal. If you have a PayPal account, you can use it if you’d like. Otherwise, you can pay by Mastercard, Visa, American Express, or Discover without having to set up an account. Just select the Don’t have a PayPal account? option when you get to the payment screen.
To make your hotel reservation today, click here or call (404) 460-6494 to make your reservations by phone. The cut-off date for reservations at the convention rate is Tuesday, April 4th. After that date, rooms will be on an as-available basis at the hotel’s regular rate.

REGISTRATION FEES: Your company must be an RPMDA member to register attendees for the convention. Deadline to cancel registration for a refund less $50 processing fee is Monday, April 3, 2017. Registration includes continental breakfasts each morning, Thursday and Friday luncheons and the Saturday night dinner and closing celebration. Additional dinner and luncheon tickets may be purchased at the convention registration desk when you pick up your packet.
Business Registration: $250 per person (U.S. funds) before February 15, 2016/ $280 after Feb. 15. This badge admits wearer to the exhibit hall, all educational sessions, opening and closing speakers, receptions and meals.
Social Registration: $175 per person (U.S. funds) before February 15, 2016/$220 After Feb. 15. This badge, for non-employee family members and guests, admits wearer to the exhibit hall, opening and closing speakers, receptions and meals.
One-Day Registration: $150 per person (U.S. funds). This badge admits wearer to the exhibit hall, all educational sessions, opening and closing speakers, receptions and meals for one day only.
First Time Attendee to RPMDA Convention: In celebration of the 40th anniversary of RPMDA, first-time attendee registration is $225.
TRAVEL INFORMATION: Fly into Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), serving most major airlines. For ground transportation the MARTA Rail System is the most efficient and least expensive method of transportation from the airport. Tickets are $2.50 and the ride is 15-20 minutes. Take MARTA to Peachtree Centre station and walk through the covered skywalk directly into the hotel lobby. Shared ride shuttle service is available with Uber or SuperShuttle.
WHAT TO WEAR: Dress is business casual for sessions. Bring a sweater or jacket to sessions in case – hotel meeting rooms can be chilly.
- The Pre-convention tour Wednesday, April 26th, will consist of a CNN/Georgia Aquarium tour in downtown Atlanta. The cost is $60.
- On Thursday evening, April 27, JW Pepper of Atlanta will host RPMDA members for a tour of their facilities. The cost is $25 per person. Buses will transport those who have signed up.

11am–5pm CNN Studio & Georgia Aquarium Tour
Inside CNN: Go behind the scenes at CNN and see how a news broadcast is put together and aired. The 50 minute, guided walking tours depart every 20 minutes. We do need reservations for the tour, so we will need an exact headcount one week in advance. The tour descends 8 flights of stairs. If you need elevator assistance, we will need to know that when booking the reservation.
Georgia Aquarium: Featuring beluga whales, bottlenose dolphins, whale sharks, and manta rays, The Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the Western Hemisphere. It is home to thousands of animals representing over 1,000 different species. Included with your admission is the dolphin show, which features up to 13 different bottlenose dolphins, and the new sea lion exhibition. Wander around and take in the oceanic beauty at your leisure. Only a 10 minute walk from CNN, and 15 minute walk back to the hotel. You are free to stay as long as you like at the aquarium, so long as you are back to the hotel in time for the opening night cocktail party at 5:30. The last group will leave the aquarium to walk back to the hotel at 4:30.
