REGISTER EARLY for the 2012 RPMDA Convention, May 2nd-5th, and your packet will be ready to pick up when the registration desk opens at noon on Wednesday. A block of rooms is on hold for RPMDA at the exciting Hilton Universal City in Los Angeles, close to restaurants, shops and entertainment attractions. Your reservation as part of the convention hotel room block supports the RPMDA convention! The convention rate is $160 plus tax, single or double. Complimentary Internet access in sleeping rooms. Discounted valet parking is $20 per day; discounted self-parking is $15 per day. The cut-off date for reservations at the convention rate is April 3rd. After that date, rooms will be on an as-available basis at the hotel’s regular rate.

REGISTRATION FEES: Your company must be an RPMDA member to register attendees for the convention. Deadline to cancel registration for a refund is Wednesday, April 22, 2012. Registration includes continental breakfasts each morning, Thursday and Friday luncheons and the Saturday night banquet. Additional banquet and luncheon tickets may be purchased at the convention registration desk when you pick up your packet.
Business Registration: $265 per person (U.S. funds). This badge admits wearer to the exhibit hall, all educational sessions, opening and closing speakers, receptions and meals.
Social Registration: $215 per person (U.S. funds). This badge, for non-employee family members and guests, admits wearer to the exhibit hall, opening and closing speakers, receptions and meals.
Daily Registration: $150 per person (U.S. funds). This badge admits wearer to the exhibit hall, all educational sessions, opening and closing speakers, receptions and meals.
TRAVEL INFORMATION: Fly into nearby Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, CA (BUR), or Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). A taxi one-way from BUR is approximately $25 in good traffic. A taxi one-way from LAX is $80 or more. Shared ride transportation with Super Shuttle takes longer for multiple stops, and requires a reservation for your return to either airport, which you can make online at www.supershuttle.com, or with the hotel concierge. Super Shuttle is approximately $12 one-way from BUR, and $20 one-way from LAX.
WHAT TO WEAR: Dress is business casual for sessions. Since weather can be unpredictable this time of year, be prepared for possible rain and bring a sweater or jacket to sessions in case – hotel meeting rooms can be chilly.
SPECIAL OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES
Wednesday, May 2nd, Pre-Convention Sightseeing Trip “That’s Entertainment!”
Arrive by Tuesday evening, May 1st, and be downstairs in the hotel lobby on May 2nd by 8:30 AM for a 9 AM departure via motor coach, accompanied by an experienced guide. You’ll be taking a VIP tour of the Warner Brothers Studio with your RPMDA friends in 12-passenger trams, followed by a tour of Capitol Records,* the recording label at one time to The Beatles and currently boasting artists from Bob Seger to Coldplay. The scheduled return to the hotel is 2:30 PM. Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes. Tour includes all admissions, lunch will be on your own in the Warner Brothers cafeteria. $89 per person, seating is limited!
(*If we are unable to tour Capitol Records for any reason, we will substitute a tour of Grauman’s Chinese Theater and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.)
Optional Thursday Evening Event, May 3rd, RPMDA “Block Party” hosted by Alfred Music Publishing
It’ll be a casual evening of fun, food and a few surprises at the nearby offices of Alfred Music Publishing. Transportation will be provided, all we need is your RSVP to help our hosts at Alfred get the most accurate head count.
