Next April April 25-28, our convention returns to the beautiful Twin Cities for the first time in 36 years. Offering a wealth of cultural activities & outdoor adventure, the Mini Apple has much to recommend. And after hosting the 52nd Super Bowl next February, Minneapolis will be primed for the arrival of RPMDA!

Our convention hotel is the Radisson Blu Mall of America, built in 2013 and perfectly suited to an event of our size. Boasting an onsite restaurant specializing in regionally grown, Minnesota-inspired dishes as well as a terrific cocktail bar, we know this will quickly become a focal point for after-convention gatherings. But if that’s not enough, the property is located adjacent (& connected by walkway) to the largest shopping mall in the US, with over 500 stores, a huge selection of quick-service restaurants, fine dining, bars, coffee shops, movie theatres, not to mention an amusement park! Your RPMDA board sampled a number of the attractions last month, and we’re all confident that Radisson Blu will deliver an outstanding convention experience.

From the hotel, downtown Minneapolis is an inexpensive light-rail ride away. Here you can walk the Mississippi, take in a ballgame at Target Field, wander the newly reopened Sculpture Garden at the Walker Centre, or tour the city’s bewildering but fascinating network of downtown skyways. And down the road in Chanhassen is Paisley Park, Prince’s estate and recording studio, a popular destination for fans of the late icon.

These attractions are, of course, the icing on the cake. The real reason to come to Minneapolis is to attend an outstanding convention program and enjoy the city with your industry friends. Mark your calendars – April 25-28 . We’ll see you there!

  1. Hi, we went to the conference in St. Louis last year and really enjoyed and learned a lot. Had hoped to go this year but we moved our store/academy in Feb. and resources were used up. I am definitely interested in going to next years. What is the membership fee? When do we have to join in order to attend this event?
