RPMDA 2018 Convention Entertainment

by Amy Larkin, West Music

The entertainment options for this year’s RPMDA convention are shaping up to be quite exciting (and involve WAY less walking)!  You will definitely want to come in early so you can partake in Wednesday’s planned bus trip to the Hal Leonard distribution center in fabulous Winona, MN.  Wednesday night’s opening cocktail party offers a chance to mingle with friends old and new. We have lined up an opportunity to visit both Schmitt Music and Groth Music on Thursday evening. It’s not often we have an opportunity to visit two different giants in the music industry in the same evening!  This year, we are adding a Saturday afternoon event. We plan on taking an afternoon excursion to Prince’s Paisley Park estate and production complex. This is a can’t miss opportunity for anyone interested in the history of the art and business of popular music!

The Mall of America is connected to the Radisson Blu Hotel via skyway and offers seemingly endless opportunity for food, amusement, and shopping. That’s right folks – we can enjoy a few rollercoasters without even going outside!  And if it does happen to be nice outside, the hotel has planned walking and running routes for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of convention life for a few moments.
