The RPMDA board is pleased to announce that the opening session for our 2020 convention in New Orleans will be presented by Larry Morton, President & CEO of Hal Leonard.
Entering the music products industry in 1984, Morton joined Hal Leonard in 1990, worked his way to Vice President of Sales, was appointed president in 1999, and served for twenty years as a leader for the company. In 2019, he was named CEO of the world’s largest music publisher & distributor. An outspoken advocate for the industry as a whole and a former RPMDA board member, Morton has also served on the NAMM Board of Directors, most recently as chairman for the 2013-2014 term. He brings a wealth of print and music industry experience to the table and his insights will kick-off our convention in the Crescent City.
And later the same day, we’re pleased to welcome Brittain Ashford, Executive Director of the Music Publishers Association of the United States. Returning to the RPMDA convention for the first time since 2016, Ashford will present hot-off-the-press copyright resources aimed at supporting the educators of our future music makers. Whether your store operates a lesson program or services teachers and students outside the classroom, you’ll gain valuable takeaways in this interactive session.
These are only 2 of the 16 educational sessions offered over three days of programming @ RPMDA 2020. Register today for first-class professional development, and discover why so many of our members return year after year.
