The 2018 RPMDA 42nd Annual Convention in Minneapolis attracted 160 attendees, including 26 exhibitors, and 20 first-time attendees. Among the many convention attractions, members participated in a tour of the Hal Leonard Distribution center in Winona, Minnesota, a visit to member stores, Groth Music Company and Schmitt Music Company, an excursion to Fly Over America in the Mall of America, a tour of Paisley Park, and the Annual Awards banquet. The convention mood this year was upbeat as members and guest speakers shared ideas about new technologies, print product, social media marketing, staff training, merchandising strategies and more. The new exhibit format for this year’s convention was extremely well-received. Both Retail and Commercial members had more quality time and substantive conversations with each other during exhibit times.

Approximately 30% of the associations her company manages are in the music industry.
