General Information
REGISTER EARLY for the 2010 RPMDA Convention, April 14-17, and your packet will be ready to pick up when the registration desk opens at noon on Wednesday. A block of rooms is on hold for RPMDA at the beautiful Renaissance Hotel Downtown, located in the heart of Oklahoma City’s exciting Bricktown entertainment district and within walking distance of restaurants, shops and close to the city’s cultural attractions. Your reservation as part of the convention hotel room block supports the RPMDA convention! The convention rate is $154 plus tax, single or double room. Call toll free 1-800-468-3571 to make your reservation today, or make your reservations online. The cut-off date for reservations at the convention rate is March 13th. After that date, rooms will be on an as-available basis at the hotel’s regular rate.
RETURN ON YOUR INVE$TMENT: You can literally pay for your convention trip when you redeem coupon offers from RPMDA exhibitors, available exclusively to 2010 convention dealer attendees. Redeem these valuable coupons and recoup all or part of your convention expenses!
REGISTRATION FEES: Your company must be an RPMDA member to register attendees for the convention. Deadline to cancel registration for a refund is Wednesday, March 31, 2010, 2010. Registration includes continental breakfasts each morning, Thursday and Friday luncheons and the Saturday night banquet. Additional banquet and luncheon tickets may be purchased at the convention registration desk when you pick up your packet.
- Business Registration: $235 per person (U.S. funds). This badge admits wearer to the exhibit hall, all educational sessions, opening and closing speakers, receptions and meals.
- Social Registration: $160 per person (U.S. funds). This badge, for non-employee family members and guests, admits wearer to the exhibit hall, opening and closing speakers, receptions and meals.
- Daily Registration: $100 per person (U.S. funds). This badge admits wearer to the exhibit hall, all educational sessions, opening and closing speakers, receptions and meals.
TRAVEL INFORMATION: A taxi ride one-way from the Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) is approximately $25. The Renaissance Hotel has a complimentary shuttle. Once you have claimed your bags, call 405-228-8086 for pickup from 4 AM to midnight. The shuttle will meet you outside in one of the lanes marked “Courtesy Vehicle.” To return to the airport between 4 AM and noon, go to the bell stand to schedule your shuttle transportation in advance. After noon, shuttles to the airport are on demand – go to the bell stand at least 15 minutes prior to your preferred departure time.
WHAT TO WEAR: Dress is business casual for sessions. Business suits and cocktail wear are suitable for the Saturday night banquet. The weather can be unpredictable this time of year, so be prepared for possible rain, chilly evenings and bring a sweater or jacket to sessions.
SPECIAL OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES
- Wednesday, April 14th, Pre-Convention Sightseeing Trip “Trail of Remembrance”
Arrive by Tuesday evening, April 13th, and be downstairs by 9:30 AM for a 10 AM departure via motor coach. Begin the morning visiting the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum and experience the internationally renowned collection of Western art and artifacts. The Museum is home to a permanent collection of over 2,000 paintings and sculptures inspired by the West. What would a visit to Oklahoma be without great BBQ? Set in an original speakeasy from the 1930s, the County Line BBQ offers an incomparable dining experience. The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum was created to honor those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever by the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. The Memorial and Museum are dedicated to educating visitors about the impact of violence, informing about events surrounding the bombing, and inspiring hope and healing through lessons learned by those affected. Tour includes lunch and all admissions. - Optional Thursday Evening Event, April 15th , “Take me out to the ball game!”
The Oklahoma City RedHawks Triple-A team is the Texas Rangers’ top farm club, and features some of the most exciting rising stars in professional baseball today. Stroll a few short blocks from the hotel to the beautiful AT&T Bricktown Ballpark for a 6 PM private ballpark-style dinner of hotdogs and hamburgers, then watch the game beginning at 7:05 PM from specially reserved seating in the Field Box for you and your RPMDA friends.
