Mark your calendars and join us for the 2013 RPMDA convention, May 1st – 4th, at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Columbus, Ohio, an exciting and vibrant college town that is home to RPMDA charter member Stanton’s Sheet Music. REGISTER EARLY for the 2013 RPMDA Convention, May 1st-4th, and your packet will be ready to pick up when the registration desk opens at noon on Wednesday. A block of rooms is on hold for RPMDA at the downtown Hyatt Regency Columbus, Ohio, close to restaurants, shops and entertainment attractions. Your reservation as part of the convention hotel room block supports the RPMDA convention! The convention rate is $145 plus tax, single or double. Complimentary internet access in sleeping rooms. Self-parking at the Chestnut Street Garage (one block south of the hotel and connected via a covered skywalk) is $9/overnight with in-out privileges. REGISTRATION FEES: Your company must be an RPMDA member to register attendees for the convention. Deadline to cancel registration for a refund less $50 processing fee is Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Registration includes continental breakfasts each morning, Thursday and Friday luncheons and the Saturday night dinner and closing celebration. Additional dinner and luncheon tickets may be purchased at the convention registration desk when you pick up your packet.
Business Registration: $265 per person (U.S. funds). This badge admits wearer to the exhibit hall, all educational sessions, opening and closing speakers, receptions and meals.
Social Registration: $215 per person (U.S. funds). This badge, for non-employee family members and guests, admits wearer to the exhibit hall, opening and closing speakers, receptions and meals.
One-Day Registration: $150 per person (U.S. funds). This badge admits wearer to the exhibit hall, all educational sessions, opening and closing speakers, receptions and meals for one day only.
TRAVEL INFORMATION: Fly into the Columbus, Ohio Airport (CMH), serving most major airlines. Shared ride shuttle service is available from Urban Shuttle, www.urbanexpress.biz, 1-877-840-0411, or Arch Express, www.archexpress.com, 1-800-325-1882. Reservations required, credit cards accepted, cost is approximately $17 one-way to the Hyatt Regency Columbus. A taxi one-way from the airport to the Hyatt is a few dollars more, approximately $20-$23 without tip.
WHAT TO WEAR: Dress is business casual for sessions. Since weather can be unpredictable this time of year, be prepared for possible rain and bring a sweater or jacket to sessions in case – hotel meeting rooms can be chilly.
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES: Optional Thursday Evening Event, May 2nd, RPMDA “Tailgate Party” hosted by Stanton Sheet Music, a charter member of RPMDA. It’ll be a casual evening of fun and food, and a chance to visit one of the largest print music dealers in the country. $25 per person covers dinner, beverages and transportation for the evening.
Show your school – and print music – spirit! Come to the Saturday night awards dinner wearing your school or team colors. Dig out that jersey or college tee-shirt (and it’s a perfect excuse for buying a new one), and shake those pom-poms! Let’s see how many schools or teams we can represent in the great college town of Columbus, Ohio. Get ready to cheer!
